"Glo 4 Sho" Db4 Spring Break Glow in Dark Teen 2013

March 29th, 2013 DB4 hosted the "Glo 4 Sho" Teen Spring Break Party. Our goal was to get the youth's input on some of the upcoming programs and events we will be implementing as well as give them something positive to do during their spring break. So we decided to conduct a FREE Glow in the Dark Party/Food Drive. The event was successful. 50 teens between the ages of 12 and 16 came out and completed surveys sand donated can goods. All cans good where giving to Bebashi Food Drive. The atmosphere was positive and it gave DB4 a chance to connect with the youth outside of all the formal business we conduct in the community.
Trying to make it work: DB4 & Drexel University Team Up (Dornsife Center)

Drexel University has been very supportive of Db4 and our goals. Aisde from the University being one of our partners, we have teamed up with Drexel and surrounding communities to develop programming and a vision for the new community center called the Dornsife Center. We met with Lucy Kerman Ph.D, Vice Provost of University and Community Partnerships. The vision for the center is to be a connection between the University and surrounding communities to created the opportunity to work and grow together by exchanging ideas, resources and culture. There has always been tension between the community and Drexel University about them "moving us" out. However this is our attempt to try to meet in the middle. This is still a "Work in Progress" because we have not ironed out all the details. Read more about the plan here Drexel Dornsife Center Article
